One of Those Days
Welcome to the darkness my friend,
Black as night even at the height of day.
Cannot wash away my demons,
Facing the world, come what may…

Slowly
Fridays seem to crawl so slowly,
Like they are never over quick.
So now I’m watching a frozen clock
Go tick-tock, tick-tock, tick…

YES!!!
The summer is hot and long,
My energy has started to drain.
Wait a sec. Did I hear thunder?
Time to go dancing naked in the rain!

Some Things Don’t Change

If you aren’t, you’re treated like a leper.
So I ate the salads, the brie and tofu,
Now bring me a Diet Dr Pepper!

Hmmm…
Summers of my active youth were filled,
With baseball, fireflies and gigging frogs.
Older now, I get to fire up the grill,
Serving burgers, corn and spicy hot dogs.

Please?
Mother Nature Rumbles,
Rain is good for the crops.
But I wish it was a shower
Of tasty lollipops.

Love Your Pets
Big city fireworks go off with a roar,
KABOOM! POW! WHOOSH! ALARM!
But I was at home instead of the park,
Protecting my kitten from harm.

Today Is Not Friday
Why did you publish a poem today?
You have a Friday commitment to keep!
Tomorrow I don’t have to go to work,
So I’ll probably be asleep.
