My poems are mostly pretty good,

But some are simply waffle…

Honestly though, some are good,

While others are simply awful.

This week has been long,

Filled with challenge and strife.

I’ve never needed a Friday

This bad in my life!

I’d rather be in bed.

Resting my weary head.

But I’m at work instead.

Happy as a lump of lead.

Filled with looming dread.

About the things she said.

Watching where I tread.

So I don’t end up dead.

Just hanging by a thread.

Perhaps some day I’ll wed.

And like in books I’ve read.

I’ll finally go to bed.

To rest my weary head.

When times get tough and things are hard
