Chilly Evening
Samantha and I were resting our eyes,
After dinner in my reclining chair.
An hour or so later, I woke with a shiver,
For Sammy was no longer there!
Where did she go? My mind was still foggy,
It was clearly quite difficult to think.
When Sam jumped on the chair, with her best kitty stare,
She had only hopped off for a drink.

Timing is Everything
Where there were timely tales to tell,
We’d send town criers or bards.
Even though it is not Thanksgiving,
Should I send out Christmas Cards?

Mmmm…
When I finally get home at the end of the day,
And recline in my favorite easy chair.
Sammy climbs up on my chest and purring,
Decides to take a nap right there.
A kitty and her Dad,
A Dad and his kitty.
Share a moment of peace,
In this bustling old city.

The Consternation of Sammy
My big old behind is in my chair,
And I’m not going anywhere.
Sam might howl or she might mao,
But I’m not moving anyhow.
She could be mad, probably just jelly,
Never mind, she’s taking a nap on my belly.

Ho, Ho, Ho?
The Holiday season is going full-swing,
And what do you think about that?
Some say it’s too early for my Santa suit,
So I’m going to try a different hat.

Sammy’s Favorite
The guidance counselor never mentioned this option,
Just scientist, cowboy, sociopath, barnstormer.
But after all these years, my true talent shines through,
As a sub-zero, ice-cold kitty toe warmer.

It’s All The Rage
I am not rehashing fashion,
And this is not simply an homage.
But as winter draws ever-nearer,
Get yourself a nice warm kitty corsage.

My Furry Assistant
Not being a touch-typist,
And can’t see the keys, I fail.
Yet my skills are quite impressive,
Having to type around Sammy and her tail.
