Watching the rain fall from the sky,
Yet I’m inside safe, warm and dry.
And while our conditions are far apart,
A dark storm rages within my heart.

To my young son, I was a superman,
Who handled everything with ease.
Now at 26, he steps in,

As an older man, I sit cold and alone,
My eyes lost in the rage of the storm.
Behind me at the table, my son and his girl,
Whisper, giggle and are warm.

It Is All So Beautiful
I possess no magic,
No special powers.
I am just a man,
Who walks the earth.
An earth which owes me
Nothing.
Food, water and air
Are all given on account.
And when my debt is due,
I will die.
My body returning sustenance
To that earth which,
Granted to me the quickest glimpse,
Of the beauty and wonder
That is the world.

Nose to the grindstone, still lost my job.
Working was life, pushing away all my friends.
Is it time for me to start another chapter,
Or is this where my story finally ends?
