Watching the sunrise from my balcony,
Six A.M. on a Saturday morning.
The world is fresh, alive and new,
While Sammy sleeps, still snoring.

Sammy was blocking my way down the stairs,
“Move or go down Sammy, what do you say?”
Apparently she decided to compromise,
And went down the stairs, halfway.

I talk to Sammy quite a bit.
And out of all the things I say,
The one she does not like to hear is,
“I have to go to work today.”

A fuzzy little kitten,
Crawled into my bed.

But for her stepping on my head.

I have a little kitty,
Who sleeps both night and day.
The only time that she wakes up,
Is for breakfast and to play!

She Needs a Raise
Tiny little kitten at the top of the stairs,
Standing on watch to protect us from bears.
I came down, no bears to be seen.
Sammy as a watch cat is mighty keen!
