If you hear rumbling,
That’s not a bear.
It’s Sammy and Daddy,
Two lumps in a chair!
Days grow shorter, the nights grow long,
Howling winds are cold and bitter.
Grab a blanket, stoke the fire!
And curl up with a fuzzy critter.
Watching the sunrise from my balcony,
Six A.M. on a Saturday morning.
The world is fresh, alive and new,
While Sammy sleeps, still snoring.
A fuzzy little kitten,
Crawled into my bed.
I really wouldn’t notice,
But for her stepping on my head.
Admiral Ackbar was quite correct,
When he realized “It’s a trap!”
Sammy was helping me make the bed,
And we wound up taking a nap.
Walking among the daffodils,
Smelling the lovely flowers.
That’s what I was going to do,
But I have been in bed twelve hours!
Although the temp is freezing cold,
We still could have some fun.
Look at Sammy over there,
Just sleeping in the sun.
To Sammy, I am a shining knight,
To her rescue with but a single yelp.
She was taking a rather heavy nap,
So I selflessly offered her all my help!
