When I finally get home at the end of the day,

And recline in my favorite easy chair.

Sammy climbs up on my chest and purring,

Decides to take a nap right there.

A kitty and her Dad,

A Dad and his kitty.

Share a moment of peace,

In this bustling old city.

The nights are getting colder.

I know because Sammy has been sleeping,

On my chest and on my shoulder.

I wanted to park my butt right there.

Asked her to move, she didn’t care,

Snoring so loud, couldn’t hear me swear.
