A winter storm has hit us,
Wind, snow, hail and rain.
Curled up on the couch with my kitten,
So you know that I’m feeling no pain.
Winter comes with a dark, icy fury,
First attempt to swallow me whole.
It doesn’t know that it cannot succeed,
For nothing is colder than my soul.
Colder weather is settling in,
Time for the thermostat to crank it.
But the real indicator that we might freeze,
Is the kitten underneath my blanket.
Winter is here and it is cold,
So Sammy gave me some advice.
Stay inside with a cat on my lap,
And I’ll never fall on the ice!
Days grow shorter, the nights grow long,
Howling winds are cold and bitter.
Grab a blanket, stoke the fire!
And curl up with a fuzzy critter.
Recliner, blanket, good book, nice drink,
And add to that one purring cat.
On a cold, wet rainy winter’s day,
Can’t imagine anything better than that!
This truly is a Winter Wonderland,
But the season should really cram it.
Oh look everyone, it’s starting to snow.
After I shoveled the driveway, d****t.
Winning life and living large!
That’s the way to go.
But it’s hard to get your freak on,
When it’s sixteen degrees below!
