Days are dark and gloomy,
A bitter chill permeates the air.
Sammy and I now ponder,
Stay in bed or move to our chair?

Snuggled in a chair.
Winter winds are howling,
But we don’t care!

They promised us six to ten inches of snow,
And wind chills reading well below.
With shovel in hand, couldn’t be prepared better,
It’s fifty degrees, don’t even need a sweater!

Such a Sight!
Summer is really, truly over,
I put plastic over the window.
To keep herself even warmer,
Sammy snuggled down into my elbow.

Sammy jumped onto my belly,
Gripping with her sharp, tiny claws.
But what really took my breath away,
Was those ice-cold little paws.

I Found Out
Whomever wrote, “Like kittens in the snow,”
Must have thought it a fantastic bit.
So I took Sammy outside to play,
My wounds prove she did not like it.
