Better Wear a Scarf
Winter comes with a dark, icy fury,
First attempt to swallow me whole.
It doesn’t know that it cannot succeed,
For nothing is colder than my soul.

Grateful for timers
The turkey is in the oven,
Stuffed with a marshmallow peep.
Sammy and I are in my recliner,
Falling fast asleep.

Sorry, Sammy!
Socks and t-shirts fly through the air,
And fresh from the dryer, such a pity.
But that can happen when doing the wash,
And you trip over a sleeping kitty.

Everyone is a Critic
She stopped mid-step, eyes opening wide,
This was it, The Crack of Doom!
C’mon Sammy it hasn’t been that long,
Since I have straightened up my room.

Brand New Today
Sammy purred and then she yowled,
Catnip toys make her go crazy.
Usually we play “Chasing the Ribbon,”
But today, I am too lazy.

Snuggled With Claws
Colder weather is settling in,
Time for the thermostat to crank it.
But the real indicator that we might freeze,
Is the kitten underneath my blanket.

This is the Nap You are Looking For…
Saturday morning, eight AM,
With multiple chores from which to pick,
Sammy snuggles up and starts to purr,
Now it’s 11AM, stupid Jedi Cat Trick.

Please Don’t Sing
She’s a sweet little kitten,
Living with a bone-headed Dad.
I feed, pet and play, it’s not enough,
So she gets mad.
She’ll dance on my bladder at 3 AM
To show me her pain.
But that bone-headed Daddy rolls over,
And goes to sleep again.
